about

Kelly started scrapbooking when she was a little girl and her grandma used to cut out pictures out of magazines and glue them into scrapbooks. Her love and passion for scrapbooking grew when she was introduced to Creative Memories back in 1994.

For years she was trying to find a way to make a business with scrapbooking. She tried two different catalogue shopping companies and taught at two different stores but decided that both options weren’t right for her. She didn’t want to be tied to the high overhead costs of leasing, staffing and inventorying a store. Plus with the catalogue shopping companies she didn’t like being limited to certain product lines plus paying for products before receiving them. So, an idea popped into her head and she asked her husband Max “What do you think of a mobile scrapbook store?” and he said great, when are you starting? In November 2006 the financing was arranged and the first mobile store was on the road at its first retreat two months later on January 26, 2007.

Since then, Kelly has proved the concept to be a viable one and got lots of girls saying, “Hey, I want to do what you’re doing” so then she decided what she really wanted to do was help other women get into their own mobile store and franchise the company.

Kelly met Katharina from Canadian Scrapbooker at the Edmonton Creative Stitches show and they did a two page feature story about MIM and their plans to franchise. Click here to read the story.

Kelly has been getting bookings across Alberta and has traveled from Vulcan to Camrose to Cold Lake to Mayerthorpe with her mobile store. She is really looking forward to having more mobile stores across Canada and eventually into the United States so that everyone can have access to a mobile scrapbook store when they need one.
